What began as a response to one of the restaurant industry's most difficult periods has developed into a significant foodservice growth story. Cali Dumpling was founded in Southern California by Candace and Allan Tea during the COVID-19 pandemic, initially as a way to generate work for restaurant employees affected by shutdowns. The concept evolved from local dumpling delivery into a manufacturer serving restaurants, retailers, schools, hotels and other foodservice customers. (Cali Dumpling) Now Cali Dumpling has reached another important milestone: selection for Foodbuy's 2026 Supplier Accelerator Program. Foodbuy specifically included Cali Dumpling among the emerging suppliers participating in this year's program, which is designed to help innovative suppliers develop relationships and opportunities within the organization's enormous foodservice purchasing network. The company's growth also reflects the preparation necessary to compete for large institutional accounts. Cali Dumpling operates a 13,000-square-foot SQF- and USDA-certified production facility in South El Monte, California, designed for high- volume foodservice production and expansion.
